Tom E. Atchley, age 92 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 in Nashville. He was born February 8, 1917 in Center Point, Arkansas to the late Louis and Myrtle Lee Atchley. Mr. Atchley was retired from Parrish Poultry in Nashville and was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, loved fishing and watching Razorback sports. His life was his family. He was a very dedicated Veteran, he had received the Silver Star, as well as the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and three battle participation Stars. He received a battlefield commission of 2nd Lieutenant for his excellent leadership as a platoon leader. Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Norma Parrish Atchley of Nashville 2 Daughters, Lana and husband Jim Stover of Brentwood, Tennessee Debra Atchley of Nashville, Arkansas 5 Nieces and Nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Services will be Monday, May 18, 2009 at 2 pm. at Nashville Funeral Home with Glen Green and Dwayne Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm.
