Obituary for Fern May Hostetler (Shrock)

Fern May Hostetler, was born on December 19, 1922 to Ora and Bessie (Shrock) Hostetler at Shelbyville, Illinois. She peacefully passed away on August 5, 2017 at her home at Nashville, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 17 days with many of her children and grandchildren at her bedside. On February 23, 1941, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Levi C. Hostetler, sharing the joys and sorrows of married life for over 58 years. Levi passed away on June 23, 1999. She was baptized in 1935 at Shelbyville, Illinois and joined the Mt. Herman Amish – Mennonite Church to which faith she remained faithful until death. In 1938, she with her parents moved from Shelbyville, Illinois to Anna wan, Illinois and several years later to the Tampico, Illinois area. In December of 1972 Levi and Fern moved to the Nashville, Arkansas area where she lived at the time of her death. Mom died 1 day near 24 years after her son Ron and 4 grandsons met death in a plane crash.
She leaves to mourn her departure, 3 sons and 3 daughters and 1 daughter-in-law. Duane Hostetler and wife Vera, of Nashville, Ar., Judy and husband Stanley Kropf, of Mineral Springs, Ar., Delbert Hostetler and wife, Edith, of Nashville, Ar., Dorothy and husband Marion Kropf, of Hotchkiss, Colorado, Susan and husband Richard Hostetler, of Clarksville, Ar., Barbara Hostetler, of Nashville, Ar., Roy Hostetler and wife Carol, of Nashville, Ar. 4 sisters, Mrs. Owen (Lily), Kropf, Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. John David (Sylvia) Blosser, Halfway, Mo. And Mrs. Chester ( Celesta) Shrock, Buffalo, Mo. Area, 1 brother, Ben Hostetler, Buffalo, Mo., also 48 grandchildren, 168 great grandchildren and 56 great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents, 2 sons, Elmer and Ron, 4 grandsons, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation is Tuesday 2-4 P.M. and 6 – 8 P.M. at the Mennonite school house. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 o’clock at the Mennonite Church. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
