Daniel Raleigh ""Dan"" Detar
Daniel Raleigh Detar age, 78 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born June 3, 1939 in Shippenville, PA. to the late Carl Detar and Hazel Blair Detar.
He was a retired Bus Mechanic for Nashville Public Schools. He loved to go bowling, going out to eat with family. Animals were a passion of his, he would take in any animal and give it a loving home. He loved tinkering on cars even though he had worked on buses all week. Family time was important to him and loved going on vacations.
Preceding him in death was his parents, and one nephew, Rob Cox.
His survivors include his children; Daniel and wife Rebecca Detar of Orlando, Florida, Susan Schooley of Eldorado, Arkansas, Ellen and husband Brent Pinkerton of Nashville, Arkansas.
His siblings; Mary Joan Cox of Bradford, Pa., Donna Vibbert of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Linda Thompson of Belfast, N.Y., and Wanda DeWilder of Belgium.
Grandchildren; Cody Combs, Hunter Billingsley, Morgan Billingsley, Megan Harris, Sara Detar, Judith Emily Detar.
Great Grandchildren; Hallie Lovett, Ellie Scott, Mattox Detar, Hannah Harris, and Aaron Harris.
Numerous other family and friends to numerous to name.
Services for Mr. Detar will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 11:00 am at Nashville Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Gaff officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, www,americanhumane.org.
