Obituary for Sonny Kirkley

Sonny Kirkley, age 82 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas went to his eternal home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Nashville. He was born August 3, 1934 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Jessie Kirkley and Ruby Bailey Kirkley. He was retired from Poulan Weed Eater in Nashville.
Mr. Kirkley was a faithful Deacon at Harvest Time Assembly of God Church in Murfreesboro. He was a strong believer that whatever you do, you do it 100 percent. He loved bowling, had served on the Murfreesboro City Council and for 17 years was the Executive Director of the Pike County Housing Authority. He loved building things and had even built a couple of homes. Playing cards with family was one of his favorite past times. Family was very important to him, but most of all his Lord and Savior always come first.
Preceding him in death was his parents, six sisters; Edna, Dorothy, Hazel, Pauline, Ruth and Addie Jo., also a brother; Troy.
His survivors include his best friend and love of his life for over 35 years his wife Sandy Kirkley of Murfreesboro.
4 children; James, Kenneth, Linda and Edith Creel
One sister; Iva Louise Shaw of Dumas, Arkansas
One Brother; Chester Kirksey of Timpson, Texas
A large host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Harvest Time Assembly of God Church in Murfreesboro with Bro. Jerry Shinn and Bro. Jon Funderburg officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10:am until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Harvest Time Assembly of God Church.
