Obituary for Houston Parker

Houston S. Parker, age 89 of Dierks, Arkansas, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Dierks. He was born August 28, 1927 in Center Point, Arkansas to the late Fred Parker, Sr. and Patra Seymour Parker.
He was a retired security guard for Weyerhaeuser. Mr. Parker was a faithful member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death other than his parents was a brother; Donnie Parker and a son; Jerry Parker and his wife Carolyn.
His survivors include the love of his life, his wife Effie Parker of Dierks
Three children; Judy and husband Steve Coleman of Dierks, Calvin and wife Betty Parker of Dierks, and Sherry and husband David “Mack” Crews of Prescott.
Two brothers; Fred and wife Della Jean Parker, Sr. of Nashville, Wayne and wife Bobbie Parker of Nashville. Three sisters; Lavon and husband Wayne Reed of Dierks, Joyce Sharp of Dierks, and Carolyn and husband Edmond of Murfreesboro.
12 Grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with J.W. Gilbert and Calvin Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunshine Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
