Annie Mae Roberson (Goodson)
Annie Mae Goodson Roberson, 86 of Nashville, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Dierks. She was born February 8, 1929 in Nashville to the late Bea and Kate Woodruff Goodson.
She was a secretary for over 22 years at Sunset Church of Christ, as well as a long time member there. She enjoyed the Texarkana Antique Car Club with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved canning the fruits of their labor. She was always supportive of her daughters in all of their school activities. She dearly loved all of her grandchildren. She was a long time Bible Class teacher, and was a proud member of the Scrapper class of 1947, excellent basketball player for the Scrappers, a Scrapper cheerleader, and in the homecoming court. During her married life she was very devoted to helping her husband, Ordis on the farm, working in peaches and the garden.
She was the youngest, of the 12 Goodson children, Robbie Stone, Reck Goodson, Tom Lewis Goodson, twins: Rufus Goodson and Ruth Icenhower, Minnie Pearl Darling, twins: Olene Cooley and Irene Ludlam, Beatrice Jamison, Ray Goodson and Balis Goodson. She was preceded in death by her husband James Ordis Roberson on September 22, 2012. And one granddaughter, Amanda Rae Moore on March 22, 2014.
Leaving behind to cherish her memories are two daughters; Coleen Clark and her husband Floyd Jr. of Mena, Arkansas, Julia Moore and husband Terry of Dierks, Arkansas.
Four Grandchildren; Trey and Carmen Clark, Leah Lovelis, Lauren Clark and Rachel and Lance Lowrey.
Eight Great Grandchildren; Ava, Isabel, Sophia, and Will Clark, Brett, Zoe, and Gabby Lovelis, and Lucas Lowrey.
Services will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2 pm at Sunset Church of Christ with Floyd Clark, Jr., Terry Moore, and Lance Lowrey officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Home in Paragould or to the Children’s Home in Morrilton.
