Billy L. Funderburk, age 70 of Nashville, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born September 22, 1943 in Nashville to the late Dale and Ruthell Turnage Funderburk. Billy was a licensed agent and staff manager for American General Insurance Company for many years. He was an Air Force veteran, and a Baptist. He's known for being the family music enthusiast / expert. His most loved hobby was singing Karaoke, and collecting and listening to 1950’s rock and roll music. He was an avid Scrapper fan as well as a Razorback fan, attending as many games as possible. Billy also loved watching good old westerns on television, along with cooking shows. More than anything else, though, Billy was about family. Family reunions or other gatherings, and seeing his kids and grandchild were what he lived for. He always loved to play Santa Clause for his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchild. Once retired, he came to Nashville and took care of his mother for many years until she passed. Since then, a typical day at home was spent enjoying being outside in the sunshine, gardening, both flowers and vegetables, or watching his grandchild play. Billy loved to travel and did so, but also had many unfulfilled plans including fishing in the ocean, Christmas in Vermont, and driving Route 66. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a brother, Ray Funderburk.
